NFM will draw on their longstanding experience in mechanised tunnelling to undertake the scientific and technical management of the project. They will also carry out their specific tasks, namely participate in the design of the cutter head maintenance robot; integration of the developed systems on TBMs; design and manufacturing of test assemblies; system testing at factory scale and in the field; and studies concerning the economic viability of the developed technology and subsequent exploitation for the TBM industry.
