NTUA Project Scope
NTUA Project Scope NTUA Organisation NTUA Key Personnel
This group is in charge of developing an “intelligent” excavated volume measurement method to provide early detection of over-excavations in TBM tunnelling and thus help to reduce the risk of damage to surface structures in urban environment. The proposed method is based on an analytical correlation between the “static ground pressure” exerted on the TBM cutter head and the magnitude of face-take (soil volume extrusion from the excavation face) for various ground conditions.
